The former Real Betis player replaced Mateo Kovacic for his first appearance since January 18, although a 29-second role probably isn't what Ceballos has been hoping for. That last appearance came at the same stadium, as Ceballos took on Leganes in the Copa del Rey. His last action in LaLiga was on December 9, 2017, when Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 5-0 at home.

De Gea leaves Sevilla in despair

Image
A performance from David De Gea held Sevilla to a 0-0 draw versus Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie on Wednesday night at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan in Sevilla. United's Spanish goalkeeper was the star on the night, making a number of key saves, including one on Sevilla's Luis Muriel from point-blank range on the brink of half-time. The contest had all the makings of a Jose Mourinho special; the Portuguese had his team set up well defensively, while looking to strike on the counter. As for Sevilla, they will be left to rue their missed chances, knowing that the stellar goalkeeping of De Gea is something they have to contend with in the return leg in Manchester. Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella went with his strongest starting XI in the same 4-2-3-1 formation that he has been utilizing in league play, while United manager Mourinho raised an eyebrow or two by leaving the likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Marc

Lionel Messi has never scored against Chelsea... so how does the Barcelona star fare against Europe's best?

Image
He's only three goals away from joining the Champions League 100 club, but Lionel Messi will have to do something he's never done before to get there in the next two games - score against Chelsea. In eight meetings between 2006 and 2012, Messi failed to find the back of the net in 655 minutes on the pitch against the Blues. The closest he came - their last clash in the 2012 semi-final - was striking the bar from the penalty spot, a moment that ended up costing Barca a place in the final. It would have put Barcelona 3-1 up on the night, and ahead on aggregate with 40 minutes left to play against their 10-man opponents after John Terry's sending off. As it was, Messi fluffed his lines, Chelsea held firm and Fernando Torres sent Gary Neville wild. The rest, is history.  He has the chance to finally banish that memory when Barca visit Stamford Bridge for the first time in six years on Tuesday, but the weight of history is against Messi.  The Argentine's duck
